What you'll do

Organizational culture is built through everyday action and expressed in how we communicate with one another. Creating a successful culture of inclusivity at work starts with clear values, but comes to life when you help employees integrate these values in how they work and connect with one another each day. 
 
This workshop supports employees and teams in feeling more confident and comfortable facilitating supportive, inclusive conversations. This course will break down the practical steps to effectively and inclusively "hold space", while empowering participants with the functional skills to create safer environments for their peers to feel engaged and included. This workshop will also equip participants with conversation management tools to feel better prepared for potentially challenging or sensitive topics.
 
Participants will: 
 
  • Learn how to create psychologically safe(r) spaces for peers
  • Improve meeting and discussion facilitation skills
  • Become better active listeners 
  • Learn how to address prejudice, bias, or offensive remarks should they arise
  • Foster & model greater inclusivity
  • Participate in small group breakout activities and large group discussion
 
In-Person Session Notes: 
  • Space: Workshop includes small group activities and large group discussion. Recommend a meeting room with sufficient space to support for these breakout sessions. 
  • A projector or large screen is requested for support slides. If unavailable, printouts can be discussed for participants.
