Join The Stew in honoring the profound contributions and resilient spirit of African Americans during Black History Month with 'Cooking and Culture: Interactive Cooking Sessions for Black History Month.' This immersive workshop is an invitation to explore the rich tapestry of Black culinary traditions, from the flavors of the African diaspora to the ingenuity of enslaved cooks and the creativity of modern Black chefs.

Led by expert Black culinarians and historians, you'll embark on a multi-sensory journey through history and across regions, uncovering the stories of struggle, resilience, and celebration woven into each iconic dish. As you learn to recreate these traditional recipes using authentic ingredients and techniques, you'll gain a deeper appreciation for the vital role of food in preserving cultural identity and fostering community in the face of adversity.

At The Stew, we believe in the transformative power of food to heal, nourish, and unite. By intentionally centering Black voices and experiences in this workshop, we aim to create a space for reflection, empowerment, and connection, where all participants feel seen, valued, and inspired to work towards a more just and equitable society.

A portion of the proceeds from this workshop will be donated to organizations supporting Black culinary professionals and social justice initiatives.
